In which the proof by Scripture that Jesus Christ is Almighty God in the flesh continues. This is being done by showing that titles, offices, names and attributes which only God possesses are applied in Scripture to the Lord Jesus Christ. Thus far (in Part One), it has been shown that Jesus Christ is the Rock, The First and the Last, and the Creator.
OLD TESTAMENT, GOD AS THE SAVIOR
Psalm 106:21 – They forgot God their Savior, Who had done great things in Egypt…
Isaiah 43:3 – “For I am the Lord your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I have given Egypt as your ransom, Cush and Seba in your place.

Isaiah 45:21 – 23 – Declare and set forth your case; indeed, let them consult together. Who has announced this from of old? Who has long since declared it? Is it not I, the Lord? And there is no other God besides Me, a righteous God and a Savior; there is none except Me. Turn to Me, and be saved, all the ends of the earth; For I am God, and there is no other. I have sworn by Myself, The word has gone forth from My mouth in righteousness and will not turn back, That to Me every knee will bow, every tongue will swear allegiance.
NEW TESTAMENT, CHRIST AS SAVIOR
Luke 2:11 – for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

God’s NAME is not merely an ancient Hebrew word of which the pronunciation is uncertain. God identified Himself as YHWH (i.e. Jehovah or Yahweh). He also identifies Himself by other terms. God’s name is the full Biblical revelation of Who He is, especially in relation to His covenant people. Ancient Israel’s God is all this: the Rock, the First and the Last, the Creator, the Savior, the Light…Jesus is all this: the Rock, the First and the Last, the Creator, the Savior, the Light.
Here are some more titles or offices possessed by the God of the Covenant of Redemption alone. The Bible attributes them to our glorious Lord, Jesus Christ! That’s because HE IS THE GOD OF THE COVENANT OF REDEMPTION!
